The tree was collected late in the season
and took a little longer to recover
from the ordeal of being collected. The
photo is about one year from collecting.
All the new growth shows it will one
day be a healthy bonsai.
As with all collected specimens the result of
collecting will show in the future. With juniper
the result is die back. This is where the
creativity of the bonsai artist comes in to
play. In the case of this tree it took three
years for the die back to be completed.
Once the life line has been established and
the tree is healthy the creativity can begin.
